Health, Quick Snacks for On-the-go Moms and kids

Over the years Ive mentioned meal planning and the role it plays in reaching our On the Go snacks for Moms and Kids goals. Having food ready is the best way to stick to a healthy meal plan and not be tempted by other, less healthy options. One of the most important parts to planning your meals, is planning on how to handle being away from home without these prepared meals. When you are on-the-go and running errands, its so easy to stop in the drive thru and make unhealthy food choices . This can be avoided! There are items that don’t need refrigeration and can be kept in your purse or car until you need them! Here are some example of some on-the-go snacks for you to take with you and share with your kids.

On the Go snacks for Moms and Kids •Fruit: Keeping a few boxes of raisins, prunes or a banana in your bag is a great way to get that boost of energy you need when you start to feel hungry. Kiwi is another great fruit to have with you. (Yes, you can eat the skin) Kiwi has amazing benefits like fiber. This regulates blood sugar absorption! Quick Snacks for moms and Kids

•Almonds: You can buy individually packaged almonds or buy a big bag and package them yourself to take with you when you are out.Almonds are filling and pack a heart healthy punch! Aim for Raw, unsalted/flavored nuts.

•Olives: I found these great little packs of olives at a gas stations and grocery store. On the Go snacks for Moms and Kids These are single serving and full of flavor! There are no added sugars and some come with garlic or peppered. These are MY FAVORITE! I usually have a package of these and some cherry tomatoes as a snack! Very easy to keep in your purse or take with you. Sparkling Water: Another favorite of mine is sparkling water.

This keeps your boring water exciting without adding calories or artificial flavoring and sweeteners. My son LOVES La Croix Pamplemousse water!

These snacks are great for moms on the go and even for sending to school in your child’s lunch box or as a snack!

Nighttime Face Routine: Rodan + Fields Review

One of my goals in 2015 is to get into a better skin routine. I don’t wear Rodan + Fields reviewmakeup and only lightly wash my face so I’m not really “in the know” of whats new in skin care. Thats where my good friend, Hannah Lebron is an Esthetician and make up artist. I trust her with my skin and waxing needs and if I ever have any skin or make up questions,  she is my go to girl! 5-star rated boutique specializing in facials, skin treatments, waxing, makeup, spray tans, and lash extensions.

I recently moved to Connecticut the coldest state EVER and noticed a difference in my skin. I spoke with Hannah and she suggested I try a new product she was using! She mentioned a few and ultimately I wanted something that would smooth and brighten my skin. Rodan + Fields Enhancements was the answer. rodan + Fields review

After the holidays and all the food my skin and brain felt dull so I was excited to see how my skin would change with better eating and a new skin routine! The micro-dermabrasion kit consists of 3 steps.

1. The ExfoliateRodman + Fields Review

2. Night serum (my favorite part)

3. Lip serum

Before bed, I used ⅓ of the micro-dermabrasionpaste and gently covered my face. ( You get 2 uses our of one kit!)

Washed it off then moved onto the night serum. This felt amazing! My skin felt refreshed and the night serum added a nice amount of moisture to my face. Before using Rodan + Fields Enhancements, I would wash my face and my skin would be so dry and tight that it hurt. This was not the case with the Night serum. I LOVED IT!

Next up was the lip serum, I would use this everyday! It was perfect for my weathered lips from the cold weather. It was tasteless and applied nicely! No sticking!

Overall I would say I’m very impressed with Rodan + Fields Micro-dermabrasion kit. The exfoliation left my skin feeling soft and plump! Now to get Hannah to give me an Eye Brow Makeover..These things DO exist!                                                                                          Hannah Lebron is a San Diego based Esthetician and Makeup artist offering waxing, facials, spray tans, make up courses and online skin consultations! You can find her here: Website | Facebook | Rodan+ Fields

Drinking water is such an important part of staying healthy and you should be monitoring your water intake to ensure you are getting enough. Most people think they are drinking enough when in reality its not even half the amount they need!

A bit about me: Ive been approached by BeachBody coaches over the last couple years and each time I pushed them away and really had no desire to join. Most of these offers were spammy and pushy…I seriously despise this tactic. Then I saw one girl, a great friend of mine doing amazing things and saw the way she really changed the lives of the people she worked with. I moved across the world and was now sitting in a cold ass house feeling sorry for myself. I knew I wanted, and could be doing more. I just needed a bit of guidance and support. I got on the phone and talked it over with Amanda and was hooked. I KNEW it was a good fit…and for $40 what could I lose? $40 for daily marketing, business and healthy tips? SOLD.Becoming your best and helping others!

Team Inspire is all about helping and making a difference. It’s been a month and have learned more than I ever could have and am so thankful! I want to share this opportunity with everyone and Im excited to be adding a few more people to Team Inspire!

We are looking for others that would be a great fit for our team! Is this YOU?!! If you love health and fitness and would like to build a business helping others, fill out the form below! I really look forward to talking with you soon!

HOW TO Start Whole 30: tips to stay on track

whole 30 tips to succeed

Starting today (JAN. 1, 2015) I will be participating in the WHOLE 30. A 30 day reboot for my system! You can find more on this HERE. Starting a new way of eating can be challenging if you aren’t prepared and below I have listed 4 tips to help you succeed!

Clean out your cabinets

  • Go through your cabinets and toss out any food that does not follow Whole 30.
  • Take out and toss any leftover or old foods in your fridge and freezer.
  • Make an inventory list of what is in your fridge and cabinets to help prepare for your shopping trip.
  • If you have family members that are following a different way of eating, place this food in a separate location (I put foods I don’t eat on the lowest shelf so I don’t see it).
  • Don’t forget your spices! Check them for ingredients and keep only those that comply with Whole 30. Any old or clumpy spices should be thrown out as well. The fresher the better!

Plan meals & snacks

  • Use cookbooks, Google, and Pinterest (search Whole 30) to find meals for your weeks. Write these meals on a calendar and make a grocery list with the ingredients.
  • Remember to write down the snacks you are going to have ready!
  • Keep it simple. Looking through recipes can be overwhelming if you aren’t familiar with the ingredients or preparation. Look for quick and easy items you can make to help ease your way into eating this way.
  • Keep the base as a meat and a vegetable and you’ll be good to go. If you feel ready, make a new recipe at the end of the week to enjoy with your family!

Now it’s time to go shopping!

  • Set a budget and stick to it.
  • Price check items (especially meats) and see what you can buy frozen. Most vegetables can be found in the freezer section, pre cut at a better price.
  • Stick to your list and don’t go to the store hungry.
  • Don’t forget containers/bags for your food and snacks

Prepare foods

  • Divide your meats up to be froze, cooked later or smaller portions.
  • Wash and cut vegetables for easy snacks and cooking.
  • Click HERE to see how to store your fruits and vegetables (FREE printable)
  • Divide your snacks into individual on-the-go portions (ziplocks are great!)
  • Marinate/cook any meals you will need for the next couple days
  • Click HERE for more ways to prepare meals

These tips can be used for the Whole 30 as well as any healthy eating plan.

Setting Goals for the New Year!

Every year we make resolutions and only a small amount of people actually succeed in completing them. I usually make a few attainable ones and a few “WAY OUT THERE, would be a miracle if it happened” ones. This year I’m trying to focus more on gaining balance in all aspects of life AND reaching my goals. I don’t want to just getting in shape or just to save more money (which are always things I tend to focus on). I want to be consistently working towards bettering myself.New Years resolutions! Happy 2015

Fit Pregnancy and Parenting offered 5 ways to follow through with our goals! You can find those tips HERE.

Consistency is something that I need and want and will help me in all of my goals. I usually fill my plate with too much and then get burnt out when I don’t succeed at everything at once. This becomes a cycle of starting and not finishing A LOT! Finding a group of people that are consistently working towards their goals has been an amazing help. I’ve found better ways of organizing my time and prioritizing the things that need to happen.

When you tell others your goals, you are more likely to follow through with them so the things I want to work consistently on are:

-Practice yoga and stretch moreres2

-Save twice as much money in 2015

-Coach and train more clients

-Be more present with my family

-Get out and meet people in my area

-Read 1 personal development book every month

-Complete and giveaway my recipe book

-Film 1 workout video per week

-Build a steady following on Instagram

-Find a church and youth group for our family

-Go rock climbing

-Travel more in New England

-Photograph more of my family

What are some of your goals?
